QB Training and Development

Playing quarterback on any level is more demanding than any other position in any other sport on the same level. The higher the level of competition the more demanding it becomes. The great Paul Brown said it best, “Playing quarterback in the NFL (for that matter any level) is so tough it is almost impossible. The basic reason is that there is a degree of excellence required that is virtually unimaginable to outsiders”.

Former pro quarterback Phil Simms made this comment to another father while watching their sons play youth football, “I made the comment that some of the best coaching I ever received hadn’t come till well into my pro career.  The other father was amazed, not so much that I was learning new techniques but that there were so few coaches around who could actually teach the mechanics that would help me play at a high level.  I told him that at this late stage in my career, I was finding that I had to rely on sound fundamentals more than ever to be effective and play my best.  When I thought about it, my only regret was that I wasn’t coached this way when I was in high school and college”.

Objective: To teach the proper passing mechanics and the intangible qualities that are of the utmost importance to any successful QB.

Method: 1. All sessions are 1-on-1 with special attention on the particular phase of the session. 2. No drills for drills sake. The player will be exposed to a few vital drills and repeat them many times. 3. Throughout the sessions, some of the most important intangible qualities of a QB will be emphasized over and over.
